Nice Day to End a Long Work Week, TGIF!!!

This morning we all began our day pretty early. It was a little disappointing to find we were out of milk, bread, pop, cereal and trashbags. Wow, am I the only 1 who remembers the way to the grocery store or the local Wal-Mart. Guess so. I knew we had lots of errands to run and it would be a full day. Did I also mention, I am off work today, YIPPEEE!!!!!

I started at 6 a.m., got the baby fed, changed, fed again, changed, fed again. We are starting to think he needs an IV or something to continuously feed him. Even rice cereal does not last him long, only about an hour, with an entire jar of baby food.

Our 1st stop was a local wholesale place where we picked up a condolesence gift for Pete's wife Nancy. This place is great. I can get great gifts here and never pay what the local florists want for these items.

With this being Friday, we have a store called Grandview Outlet in our area. They are only open on the weekends, and Friday is the big day to go with all the new stuff being put out. Lots of this merchandise is stuff Target and different stores have clearanced and eventually just sold as palletts. Wait until you see all that we got. All of this stuff in the this photo added up to about 62 bucks, and I never photographed the new bras. Everything there has tags on it and you just have to be willing to look for a while and check the merchandise over. Sometimes it is out of season clothing but usually worth the price. All clothing articles are 1.99, yes that is cheap. Some things are a bit more but not much. The strawberries are a neat canvas bag that I plan on using for VBS next week, and I got my mom 1 too.

Our next stop was the local Goodwill store. Personally, I find they are a little expensive for used articles especially since I just got all this new stuff so cheap. I mean, they want 2 bucks for a used shirt. Needless to say we went on in. My son found this video set of Bill Cosby doing Picture Pages. Who remembers these? I sure do. I immediately started singing him the theme song, and got a very weird look from him. As soon as we came home, we popped these VHS tapes in the VCR and commenced in wathing them. Wow, I must have been really bored being an only child and all, at least until I was 15 when my dear sister came along. I must say educational videos have come a long way.

I found Aidan 2 books, 1 was Beatrix Potter, and the other was an older book, loved the green outside color and the pages were very vibrant. Can't wait to read these to him. We have so many books, but we love them.
Next was the local Wal-Mart for all the things we were out of. Pretty boring in there. We then headed home to stop next at a local little store called Black Barn Produce. Gage loves this place. They have all this retro candy, Jones soda, cheap toys, hand-dipped ice cream and so much more to offer. The chocolate-covered cashews were calling my name but I managed to get out without buying any.

We really had a great day, but forgot 1 thing, to order Aidan's pictures at Brenda Sheperheds' Photography. Guess I will do this online after all.

God Bless,
Teresa

LIFE IS LIKE A VAPOR

Life is like a vapor. We are here today and gone tomorrow. Today, we mourn the passing of a family friend and member of our church. He has gone to be with the Lord on this day and meet up with his son who left just last year in this same month. This man was a very good Christian. He always gave his testimony for God. He was in the back row of the choir behind me and I enjoyed hearing him sing. He always greeted you with a smile and a handshake and more than often a hug. You see, you love your fellow brothers and sisters, and his wife and him were close to my heart.

Pete McKinney was 73 years old. He had a loving wife and sons, and will be sorely missed.

Late Night Fishing on the Farm

Now, when I say we live on a farm, I do not mean an actual working farm. We do have dogs and cats galore, not actually going to say how many, but I do mean many. We call it a farm because it is a huge expanse of land and we are off to ourselves with no neighbors, and love it this way. We are considering getting some miniature horses this year or next but 1st we have to get a barn.

Last night my sister and her BFF did some late night fishing in 1 of our ponds. We have 2 but have been fishing this 1 more lately. You can catch crappie (not sure if the spelling is correct) and catfish all the time, and an occasional snapping turtle.

We had a blast, lots of craziness and line breaking. The baby enjoyed being out with all the nonsense going on. He was very excited. He kept trying to go to sleep but the frogs were way too loud for him.

Now, I do not fish. I find it very boring but I do like the company. The only thing we were missing last night was a bonfire and marshmallows to roast. We had the marshmallows but no fire. We had rain yesterday and the wood was wet.

I figure these pictures will be dark, but going to give it a try anyway.

Enjoy!

Teresa

P.S. No they did not catch enough to have a fish fry. We actually turn these all back into the pond and never eat them.

New Posts Coming

I am a sucker for new cleaning products, kitchen gadgets and new products that come out. I love to try new products on my house, car, floor and who knows maybe even the dog. I am going to start posting my reviews of some of my favorite things I have bought to clean my house or work or cook with. I am also going to start posting reviews on many other products I have tried and loved ranging from beauty and hygiene to even food.

One day I am going to do a yard sale find, good or bad. I may even sell some things on here like a yard sale. I do have an account with an online auction company and would be happy to offer my feedback if you would like these items from me.

Maybe my insight will help you decide if this product is right for you.

MY OFFICE

Now I so wanted to enter Kelly's Korner blog show us where you live Fridays with my office, but as you can see, my office is slowing turning into a daycare center. Now this is only half the mess I usually keep in here. I did not bother to show you guys the boxes upon boxes of stuff I have for my primitive web business, http://www.thedustyatticprimitives.com/.

Check out the pics, and yes Aidan did sleep in his car seat while I worked the otehr evening, and yes I do have his legs covered up with an outfit from my diaper bag since it was close and handy.

I am very thankful for these things in my life. By the way, my living room is turning into the same thing.

Dogs and Storms

What is the deal with dogs and storms? We have a lab who is 12 years old and immediately tries to get in the house or garage when it rains. Not to mention our sweet little Baileey, a shih tzu, who is breaths heavy, paints and has even crapped in the floor when thundering and lightening. I guess it literally scares the crap out of her. I have read and researched this online and still unsure about why they are scared of storms.

SUMMERTIME MAKES ME FEEL FINE

I know, I know, it is supposed to be summerbreeze makes me feel fine, but just had to change it a bit. You see, this is my blog and I can do that, write whatever I want.

The weather has been hot here and Gage has been living in the pool most days. Little Aidan just watches him and my niece and nephew and gets excited. He is still way to young at 15 weeks to let him take a dip. We did put his feet in the water and he just puckered up and cried. I can only imagine next year when they are swimming and Aidan will be standing at the back patio door probably screaming he wants to go outside. There goes having a clean door right. What am I saying, the clean door went out with the dogs and the cats and all the other kids. I am sure I will be loving his little lip marks and sticky hands all over the door.

As far as being outside much, which I usually am, I mostly stay indoors now with the baby with the exception of an occasional stroll around the farm or swinging the baby in the porch swing. We live on a farm and it is so quiet and peaceful. We have no neighbors, and that is the way we like it. Well, Gage hates that since there is no one for him to talk to and play with. I do feel pretty bad about this. If only my children could have been closer in age. Who knows, maybe we can have another baby next year! Wait, I think I hear my husband running for the hills now with this comment.

The Lord wakes us up each and every day, he breathes life into us, he gives us these days and we should be thankful. When you look around at God's Coloring Book you see all the colors and the beauty he created.
